mit der nummer 174 aus dem hause bpitch control gibt es das erste amtliche remixpaket aus dem mehr als erfolgreichen “happy birthday!” album der beiden berliner gernot bronsert und sebastian szary aka modeselektor.
"godspeed" und "the white flash (feat. thom yorke)" sind die ersten aus einer reihe von remixen, und niemand geringeres als anders trentemøller, selbst ein fan von sowohl modeselektor als auch radiohead, ist hier für den remix verantwortlich. da ist es kein zufall, dass dieser release pünktlich zu einem ganz besonderen termin kommt: dem Support von Modeselektor für Radiohead auf dem einzigen deutschlandkonzert ihrer sommertour 2008 im juli in der berliner wuhlheide.

endlich auf vinyl: godspeed. den bisher noch nicht auf vinyl erschienenen track gibt es als erstes schmankerl auf diesem release - immer ein garant für standing ovations in ihrem aktuellen liveset. emotionale basslines und ein ausgetüfteltes arrangement - dafür lieben wir modeselekor. lift your skinny fists like antennas to heaven!!!

was für eine kollaboration: thom yorke von radiohead und modeselektor, hier im original aus dem album. viel muss man zu diesem song nicht mehr sagen. er wurde ja nicht umsonst von diversen radiosendern mit einer playlist belohnt.
b - the white flash (feat. thom yorke) - trentemøller remix trentemøller at its best! dieses 9:30 mins monster kann man getrost als hommage an das original bezeichnen - wie trentemøller langsam mit breakigen beats in schwung kommt, mit wenigen, aber umso effektiveren soundspielereien das feld für thom yorke´s vocals eröffnet, diese dann endlich einsetzen, ein unglaublich tighter beat dazu kommt, auf das wohlverdiente break hinarbeitet, die vocals von herrn yorke dann fast allein, nur unterstützt von einer sanften fläche, im raum stehen lässt, um
in einem finish zu enden das einen die nadel sofort wieder an den anfag zurücksetzen
lässt, ist einfach nur: der absolute flash. the white flash!

"godspeed" and "the white flash (feat. thom yorke)" are the first out of a row of remixes, and nobody else than anders trentemøller, a huge fan of modeselektor und radiohead himself, is responsible for the remix treatment.
by the way, it is no coincidence that this release is seeing the day of light one week prior to a special date: the support act of Modeselektor for the only Radiohead Show in Germany this summer at berlin´s wuhlheide.

what a collaboration: radiohead´s thom yorke and modeselektor, the original version from the album on here. this song needs no more words, besides of the fact that it was honoured by several radio stations worldwide with a playlist.

trentemøller at its best. this 09:30 mins monster can be seen as an hommage to the original - how trentemøller gains momentum with a breaky beat, then opens the field for thom yorke´s vocals with only a few but very effective sound variations, lets an unbelievable tight beat hit the spot, aims for the well-deserved break that lets mr. yorke´s vocals stand nearly all alone, only supported by a lovely chord, and then finishes in a way that makes you wanna drop the needle to the beginning again immediately, is simply: the absolute flash. the white flash. |
